   I have finally listed the new rugs on my blog.  Check to the right to see the rugs listed by name.I still have problems with blogging, no matter what I do I cannot format the text.  It must be a button or a setting I am not understanding.  I will keep trying when time permits but now I need to get back to my stitching for next months new rugs.

I have a beautiful runner started for next month, it is a large rug at about 38 inches and a double stack penny design in shades of browns.   I have pillows on my mind as I am thinking of decor here at the condo so perhaps a few penny rug pillows will find their way to the blog soon.   

     I hope to blog on a regular basis so check back often.   Enjoy the fall everyone... I am waiting for snow.   Winter is my favourite time of the year to snuggle up with my wool stitching.

Journey into Wasted Time

  It takes great determination to keep my life on track.
Today was an example of wasted time although some
days need to flow as they should.  I had an interview
with our local paper today on cee and her penny
rugs.  Of course the condo needed to be clean and
tidy as well as cee and it seems the day slipped away.

No rugging today and no updates on the websites or
blogs.  Where does time go?   

Tomorrow is another day I tell myself.  Cee you
need a break from rugging I tell myself.   

I sometimes tell little white lies to myself.

Cee and Penny Rugs

   The history of rug hooking has deep roots in rural Nova Scotia. My neighbours would either have a mat or quilt in the bars during the long winter months. However, my discovery of the making of penny rugs came from an article published in a magazine on the rugmaking of artist Barbara Bond.

   I scoured my old magazines for examples of antique penny rugs and found one that tugged at my heartstrings, (and still does) on the cover of Country Living magazine.

I must admit I am one for a challenge but to know nothing about the making or history of penny rugs and to make a reproduction of this antique rug was truly a challenge.

Nine years later I am still learning and still challenging myself to make more detailed and interesting rugs in the traditional ways of a hundred years ago.
